Overview

About Muscle Scrapping Therapy

“Muscle Scapping” as it’s commonly known, is technically referred to as instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) which is a manual therapy technique that utilizes specialized tools to treat musculoskeletal injuries and pain. The tools are designed to detect and treat adhesions, scar tissue, and other soft tissue dysfunctions

IASTM involves using specialized tools to apply pressure and friction to targeted areas of soft tissue in order to promote healing and reduce pain. The practitioner uses the tool to gently scrape and rub the surface of the skin in a controlled manner, aiming to identify and treat specific areas of adhesions, scar tissue or other dysfunctions. The tools used in IASTM are usually made of stainless steel, but can also be made of plastic or other materials.
